BF6 Players Concur: Missions Are Overly Demanding

The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.

Players have started turning to personalized games set up using Battlefield Portal to complete them, emphasizing just how arduous these challenges have become.

Comprehending BF6 Objectives

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 main guns available in the game.

Several of these locked weapons may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

On Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and is effective only at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Overly Demanding Task

One more community participant brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, within the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles

This is difficult enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game right now, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and maybe an additional option at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.

The Workaround

There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This implies you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

Yet, if completing the missions in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for completing them in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply will never acquire the gated weapons.

For now, the community continues to share their thoughts on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a less arduous gaming experience in subsequent patches.
